Pacto, the all-in-one point of sale (POS) platform with integrated payments for restaurants, bars, and cafes in Mexico, has launched "Pacto Horarios," an employee scheduling software, taking a step further towards modernizing and digitizing operations in the food industry in Latin America.
This new product, integrated into the main software of Pacto, is designed to optimize workforce scheduling, simplifying and streamlining staff shift assignments for small business owners and managers, rather than relying on previously manual methods like paper-written schedules, WhatsApp groups, and Microsoft Excel files.
Streamlining workforce efficiency and ensuring effective schedule management are crucial components within the food and beverage and hospitality industries, historically presenting sector-wide challenges for the 650,000 restaurants and bars across Mexico.
According to data from the National Occupation and Employment Survey (ENOE) conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), 34% of the country's workers reported work absences due to health issues, and 18% due to personal problems. Both causes are significant factors driving the adoption of a time and attendance control system.
In response to client demand, Pacto created Horarios, which streamlines shift management, enhances productivity, and improves employee satisfaction. The key benefits of "Pacto Horarios" include:
- Simple Employee Scheduling: Empowers restaurant, bar, and cafe managers to create schedules intuitively, efficiently, and quickly. The user-friendly interface simplifies shift assignments, considering factors like staff availability and business needs.
- Transparency and Communication: Staff can access their schedules online and in real-time, promoting transparency and communication, and minimizing misunderstandings.
- Resource Optimization: Reduces time spent on manual planning and prevents schedule errors, resulting in more efficient allocation of human resources and increased satisfaction for both staff and customers.
- Mobile Access: Through a mobile application, staff can access their schedules anytime, anywhere, simplifying coordination and contributing to a more flexible and adaptable work environment.
"We built this product directly in response to client demand, so we are excited to launch Pacto Horarios, a solution entirely designed to address one of the most common challenges faced by restaurants, bars, and cafes: staff schedule management," said Ryan Croft, Pacto Co-founder and CEO. “We have seen the emergence of cloud-based platforms in other markets, like 7Shifts and HotSchedules, solving the unique challenges of SMBs with complex staffing requirements. With Horarios, restaurant owners will save time and reduce staffing-related errors with direct integration into Pacto’s leading cloud-based point of sale solution.”
The launch of "Pacto Horarios" reaffirms Pacto's “all-in-one” mission and commitment to digitize the Mexican food and beverage industry. This scheduling module for restaurant, bar, and cafe staff enables the creation and coordination of perfect schedules in a matter of minutes, eliminating manual processes that could consume up to two working days for managers per month.
“Horarios is a great addition to Pacto’s existing platform functionality. We were already offering employee management tools like roles and permissions to avoid fraud. Now with Horarios, Pacto empowers clients to have greater control on their staff scheduling,” said Pacto Co-founder and Chief Technical Officer (CTO) Gordon Whitehouse.
Current Pacto POS clients like Miranda Edelmann, owner of Postales de Café, believe "Pacto Horarios" is addressing one of the most frustrating issues faced by restaurant owners.
According to Miranda, "Employee schedule management is a critical challenge for a café with multiple branches like ours. With the new feature, I'll be able to effectively manage shifts, save time, and focus on my customers."
