Henry brings over 20 years of experience in restaurant operations, training and project management to her new role within Bloomin’ Brands. She originally joined the restaurant holding company in 2012. Prior to her tenure at Bloomin’ Brands, she also worked at Bob Evans Farms and Pizza Hut.

What’s on Henry’s plate: Growth will be a big focus for the 65-unit chain, which didn’t add any restaurants last quarter. Fleming’s entire system is company-owned, meaning near-term growth won’t come from franchisee expansion. Fleming’s has strong sales and profit margins, and Bloomin’ expects to invest in this brand’s expansion. Comparable sales were up 3.6% during the first quarter but traffic slowed, increasing only 0.2% compared to 28.8% in the year-ago quarter. The company launched a social hour providing food and drink offerings during the early evening that could help boost traffic.
With her most recent roles focused on DEI, Henry could push for more diversity in Fleming’s management. She is one of the few Black female presidents in the restaurant industry.
