Casey’s General Stores announced last week that it’s now offering thin-crust pizza for customers across all of its stores.
The release marks the latest pizza-focused innovation from the Iowa-based chain in what’s become its signature foodservice dish. In recent months, Casey’s has introduced beer cheese breakfast pizza as well as a triple pepperoni pizza.
The thin-crust pizza is made with “a touch of sea salt” and incorporates the company’s signature crust recipe, according to the announcement. It gets cut party style and is available for single topping, specialty and breakfast pizzas.
“For years, Casey’s pizza has earned an incredibly passionate fan following and our guests know that they can always get a delicious, fast and easy meal at Casey’s,” said Tom Brennan, Casey’s chief merchandising officer, in a statement.
While new to Casey’s, thin-crust pizza is a common offering across pizza restaurants, and even has a presence in the c-store industry. Kum & Go also offers a thin-crust pizza, according to its website.
Casey’s began making pizza in its stores in 1984, according to its website, and now serves several varieties along with wings, breadsticks, prepared sandwiches and other dishes. The company claims it is the fifth-largest pizza chain in the U.S.
Casey’s, which operates more than 2,400 stores across 16 states, recently introduced a revamped loyalty app that aims to make it easier for members to track points, redeem rewards and check their overall savings.
