Topgolf CEO Arthur Starrs will join Dine Brands Global’s board of directors as an independent member, the company said Tuesday. Starrs has served as Topgolf’s CEO since April 2021 and has overseen the company’s global business, including domestic and international units, Toptracer and Topgolf Media.
Prior to joining Topgolf, Starrs served as Global CEO of Pizza Hut from July 2019 until April 2021. Before this promotion, he worked in various roles at Pizza Hut U.S., including president, CFO and vice president of finance. He previously served on the board of directors of Grubhub and is a current member of the board at Five Iron Golf. He also serves on several nonprofit boards including, The First Tee of Greater Dallas, First Book, The Greater Dallas youth Orchestra and Greenhill School.
“During the last 25 years of his career, Artie has gained tremendous experience as a C-Suite and executive leader of well-known brands and large corporations,” Richard Dahl, chairman of the board of directors at Dine Brands Global, said in a statement. “His background in management and finance, and his service on the boards of directors of both public and private companies make him a valuable addition to Dine Brands’ Board of Directors.”
Starrs’ appointment to the board follows a flurry of leadership changes across Dine Brands. In January, Tony Moralejo was promoted from president of Dine Brands International and global development to president of Applebee’s U.S. after John Cywinski left the brand to become CEO at Modern Restaurant Concepts. Scott Gladstone was promoted from SVP of strategy and innovation at Applebee’s to fill Moralejo’s former position. Dine Brands brought on Sarah Cannon-Foster as chief people officer in April, as well.
