This is the latest installment in a series that highlights major executive changes at top fast casual, QSR and casual dining chains over the past week.
Starbucks hired a new chief inclusion and diversity officer while Carrols Restaurant Group tapped a new CFO — two of the biggest new hires announced over the last week. Restaurants across categories have been finishing up the year with new executives as they gear up for 2020. Many of these positions will impact future strategies at the highest level.

Nov. 26
Roy Rogers: The restaurant chain named John Giffin as consumer care manager, a newly created position, according to a press release emailed to Restaurant Dive. He will oversee the administration of customer care activities, including guest relations and recovery programs, brand reputation management, mystery shopper activity and guest intercepts and use feedback on strategic initiatives.

Carrols Restaurant Group: Anthony "Tony" E. Hull was appointed vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer, effective Jan. 2, at Burger King’s largest franchisee, according to a press release. He most recently served as senior advisor on corporate strategy and capital markets projects at Realogy Holdings Corp., and held additional positions from 2006 to 2018. He has also held positions at Cedant Corp., DreamWorks, King World Productions, Paramount Communications and Morgan Stanley.

Starbucks: In January, Nzinga Shaw will start her position as global chief inclusion and diversity officer, a role she announced via a LinkedIn post. Shaw has served as chief diversity and inclusion officer for the Atlanta Hawks since 2014, as the first chief diversity and inclusion officer for the NBA and has also worked at YES Network and Essence Magazine.
Another Broken Egg Cafe: Paul Macaluso has become the new CEO and president of the chain’s parent company, Another Broken Egg Cafe of America Franchising, which is owned by The Beekman Group, according to Nation's Restaurant News. Macaluso, formerly CEO of The Krystal Company, also was previously president of McAlister’s Deli and has held positions at Burger King, Sonic, Moe’s, Carvel, Schlotzsky's, Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon. He began his career as a general manager of Taco Bell. The casual dining chain has 68 units across 12 states.
