Uber Eats will deliver concessions to seats at Yankee Stadium

Orders are prepared and delivered by in-venue concessionaires and stadium staff.
This service is part of Uber Eats’ mobile pickup feature that is available at a handful of stadiums.

Of the sports stadiums and entertainment venues Uber Eats operates at, Yankee Stadium will be the only location to offer delivery at this time.

For in-seat delivery, consumers scan a QR code, select their concessions and input seat section, row and number at checkout. For pickup, the process is similar, with the app recommending the closest venues, but the customer will have to grab their orders from a designated pick up location.

Uber Eats offers mobile pickup service in Los Angeles at Dodger Stadium and in Anaheim, California at Angel Stadium, as well as Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., Minute Maid Park in Houston and PayPal Park in San Jose, California. It is also available in Rennes, France at Roazhon Park. The company will continue to explore ways to expand the functionality at additional venues.

“By working with venues on their digital operations, we’re bringing business value to merchants while helping consumers to use Uber Eats to eliminate some of their biggest event concerns: long lines and wait times,” Sarfraz Maredia, VP and head of Americas for delivery at Uber, said in a statement. “This opening day across the country, we’re helping to redefine the way fans enjoy live events, one order at a time.”

Uber Eats has been increasingly adding customer access to non-traditional locations. Earlier this year, it officially partnered with its first U.S. airport, Tampa International Airport, to provide online ordering from various concessions. It has full operations at the Toronto Pearson Airport.

DoorDash has also been expanding its reach with mobile ordering at various venues, including the Golden State Warriors’ Chase Center and ASM Global. ASAP offers in-app ordering at home games for the New York Giants and New York Jets, as well as the Florida Panthers and New Orleans Saints.
