Name: Justin Falciola
New title: Chief technology and growth officer, CKE Restaurants
Previous title: Chief insights and technology officer, Papa Johns International
Falciola joins CKE, the parent company of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s, after spending over five years in his previous role at Papa Johns, according to a press release. He also held leadership roles with Humana, Fifth Third Bank and JPMorgan Chase, per the press release.
“As technology continues to shape and change the QSR industry, I am confident that his extensive record of success leading high-performing analytics, digital and IT teams will help both Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s enable digital growth,” said CKE CEO Max Wetzel in a statement.
One of the major focus points for both brands has been the improvement of guest and team experience via technology and digital platforms. Falciola will work to harmonize the company’s business goals with its information technology, digital strategy and operations, the announcement noted. He will also help deploy new technologies and support the evolution of digital channels including loyalty, first-party and third-party digital platforms. The company launched a loyalty program via branded apps in 2022.
“I look forward to leveraging my experience to help Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s reach their unique business goals, evolve the team and guest experience through technology and ultimately grow these two iconic brands,” Falciola said in a statement.
Earlier this year, CKE began separating Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s brand identities and operations through the introduction of a new leadership structure for each brand, headed by a president, according to the press release. Among the top areas of investment are mobile ordering, delivery and loyalty programs, which increase “convenience, engagement, and value for guests while boosting sales from digital and delivery channels,” the company said.
