Dive Brief:
- Domino’s is promoting Sam Jackson to EVP of human resources effective Nov. 4, the company said in a press release Tuesday.
- Jackson has been with Domino’s since 2018. He joined the company as VP of human resources and most recently served as VP for the office of the CEO starting in April 2022. In his new role, Jackson will report directly to CEO Russell Weiner.
- Domino’s is expanding its partnership with Uber Eats over the next few months, which could boost the company’s sales but potentially require more labor as Domino’s will perform those deliveries itself.
Dive Insight:
While application numbers for delivery drivers have grown, the company’s delivery sales are still challenged, indicating a potential need to improve the company’s retention and recruitment efforts.
Jackson’s experience with Domino’s system, and his tenure in human resources, could help with labor challenges, Weiner said in a statement.
Before Domino’s, Jackson worked at Target in human resources for almost 12 years, according to the press release.
In addition to its Uber Eats partnership and ongoing efforts to attract drivers, Domino’s is looking to use some forms of artificial intelligence to ease managerial workloads in partnership with Microsoft.
