Restaurant Dive would like to know how your business is approaching menu pricing.
Food-away-from-home prices have outstripped inflation in food-at home-prices, rising 8.3% year-over-year in May compared to a 5.3% increase for groceries. As price jumps make consumers wary, are restaurants easing up on menu increases? Major brands, from the QSR and fast casual to full-service segments, raised prices by 5% to 10% last year.
Restaurants, with their narrow margins, complex supply chains and price-conscious consumers, are particularly exposed to inflationary risks and customer backlash.
Answer the survey linked below to tell us how you’ve handled menu pricing in the last year and how your customers have reacted to any price changes. The results of this survey will be published next week.
