Starbucks has appointed Heather Ostis as its new senior vice president and chief procurement officer of global supply chain, Ostis announced on LinkedIn. She joined the coffee giant in January.
In the new role, Ostis will focus on alleviating constraints, strengthening supplier relationships, improving supplier performance and building network resiliency, according to her profile on the Starbucks website. Her supply chain background is holistic, having been Delta Air Line’s vice president of supply chain management before joining Starbucks.
“As I step through the doors of Starbucks, I am excited to build upon the impact and excellence of their Mission, Promises, and Values," she said on LinkedIn. "I am looking forward to discovering and nurturing the limitless possibilities of human connection with every cup, conversation, community, and partner.”
While at Delta, Ostis oversaw end-to-end global strategic sourcing and supply chain systems. She supported the airline’s overall sustainability, which encompassed sustainable sourcing. Ostis also implemented Delta’s Source to Pay platform and expanded the company’s spend on supplier diversity.
Prior to Delta, Ostis was vice president of global procurement and supply chain at Aramark, a provider of food service and facilities services. Before that, she led the global consolidation of Wyndham Worldwide's supply chain while in a strategic sourcing role.
