Dive Brief:
- Tri Star Energy has expanded the made-to-order foodservice menu at its Twice Daily convenience store chain, according to an emailed announcement Monday.
- The menu, which already featured subs, sandwiches, burgers, empanadas, breakfast foods and snacks, now includes customizable wraps. This addition comes about five months after Tri Star debuted its made-to-order menu at all Twice Daily locations.
- Last year’s launch and now the expansion of Twice Daily’s made-to-order foodservice menu underscore’s Tri Star’s commitment to placing the category at the forefront of its operations, which experts believe c-stores must do if they want to narrow the gap with restaurants.
Dive Insight:
Tri Star’s made-to-order menu isn’t the only foodservice option available at Twice Daily. The retailer also has a lineup of hot meals and fresh deli offerings.
However, when Twice Daily’s made-to-order menu debuted last October, Tri Star’s Vice President of Marketing Dawn Boulanger emphasized the company’s intention to incentivize customers with custom-made, fresh items moving forward.
Twice Daily’s newest wraps come in several varieties, such as turkey and Swiss, Italian, ham and cheddar and Nashville Hot Chicken. A portion of the proceeds from every Nashville Hot Chicken wrap sold will go toward the National Hockey League’s Nashville Predators’ 356 Pediatric Cancer Fund, according to the announcement.
Tri Star has been busy on the foodservice front so far in 2024. Its wraps arrive about a month after the company debuted a variety of winter coffee flavors at its White Bison coffee shops. Those varieties include a cinnamon beehive latte, vanilla rooibos tea latte and honey nut macchiato.
