Name: Scott Taylor
New title: Chief Executive Officer, Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux
Previous title: Chief Operating Officer, Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux
Walk-On’s founder, Brandon Landry, appointed Taylor to succeed him as CEO. Taylor has served as COO and president of the brand for more than a decade, according to a statement released by the chain on Wednesday. Landry will serve as chairman of the board of directors. Landry said Taylor was the natural choice for CEO, given his long operational experience with the sports bar brand.
Taylor has been a longtime leader at the casual dining chain, which has grown to over 75 units in 13 states, according to the press release. Taylor also helped the company fill its franchise development pipeline with 100 units in various stages of development, and 20 units are expected to open in 2023. Walk-On’s claims an average unit volume of around $5 million.
In October, the company announced it would expand to Indianapolis through a franchise partnership with Todd Johnson, CEO of Trident Hospitality; Derrick Brooks, a former player for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; and Wade Kornblith, SVP of UBS Financial Services. That deal includes the possibility of developing further restaurants in Indiana. Under Landry and Taylor, the brand also began developing nontraditional units, opening a location operated by Aramark on Purdue University’s campus.
