Name: Stacy Peterson
New title: Chief Executive Officer, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams
Previous title: Chief Revenue Officer, Wingstop
Stacy Peterson is joining Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams as CEO in December, the company said in a press release emailed to Restaurant Dive. As chief revenue officer at Wingstop, Peterson oversaw the restaurant’s growth from 550 to 1,900 units. Peterson was particularly focused on Wingstop’s digital growth.
“[Peterson] led Wingstop’s digital and marketing transformation, building digital experiences that enabled industry leading momentum,” the press release states.
Peterson will replace John Lowe, the outgoing CEO of Jeni’s, who served about 13 years in his position. Lowe will remain on the company’s board, and Peterson will assume the role in December.
Peterson’s departure from Wingstop last week triggered rumors she would join a pizza chain. This was not the first C-suite loss for Wingstop this year, which saw longtime CEO Charlie Morrison announce his intent to resign in March.
Jeni’s has more than doubled its unit count to almost 70 since 2019, when founder Jeni Britton Bauer told Restaurant Dive the company operated about 30 locations.
