New title: Senior vice president, chief growth officer, Wingstop
Previous title: Chief marketing and digital officer, Papa Johns
Wingstop has named Anne Fischer as SVP, chief growth officer, the company announced Tuesday. Fischer served as chief marketing officer of Papa Johns until earlier this year. She became Papa Johns CMO in early 2022, as part of an eight-year stint with the pizza chain, according to her LinkedIn profile. Fischer started as CGO on Monday, July 10, according to an email from Wingstop.
Michael Skipworth, Wingstop’s CEO, said Fischer “will help Wingstop continue to execute its marketing and digital strategies on our mission to Serve the World Flavor.”
Marisa Carona served in the CGO post from August 2021 to July 2022, before becoming Wingstop’s SVP chief U.S. franchise operations officer.
The fast casual chain’s systemwide sales increased 16.8% to $2.7 billion in fiscal year 2022, according to the press release, and its unit count reached 1,996 restaurants in April 2023. Over the last year, Wingstop has been focused on growing its franchise system towards an eventual goal of 4,000 U.S. units. To that end, the company hired Craig Sherwood as SVP of U.S. development last September.
